Lauren Pines HOA Announces Free “Music in the Pines” Summer Concert Series
York, SC – June 19, 2008 -- The Lauren Pines Homeowners’ Association is hosting a summer music series beginning Friday, June 27, 2008 and running throughout the summer on every other Friday. Entitled “Music in the Pines,” the concerts are free and open to the public. A wide variety of music styles will be featured, from bluegrass and Southern Gospel to barbershop quartet.
An entertaining pre-show band will start off each concert at 6:15 p.m., with the concert itself beginning at 7 p.m. All shows are family friendly and will end by 8:30 p.m. Venders will be available on-site for meals and snacks, or families may wish to bring their own picnic dinner to enjoy the pre-show event. Ron’s barbeque will kick off the concert series on the 27th by providing for purchase his world-famous barbeque for our guests.
In describing the inspiration behind the summer concert series, HOA president Edward Johnson commented: “One of my fondest summer memories when living in New England was the chance to attend summer concerts in the park. Most communities sponsored them, and it was a way for local residents to get out and enjoy some entertainment and interact with one another as well. We’re excited to bring that same tradition to Lauren Pines.”
“Music is such a part of our southern cultural heritage,” noted Mr. Johnson, “and we feel like the concert series is a way to give back to the larger community who come to enjoy each event.”
Ken Goodnight, president of AMS (the management company for Lauren Pines’ HOA), eagerly endorses the concert series: “We strongly encourage the homeowners’ associations that we work with to be proactive in serving their residents with social and entertainment events. The concert series in Lauren Pines is a first for HOAs in the area. We hope that other HOAs will follow their example.”
Each concert will feature free giveaways and other door prizes provided by event sponsors including York Bi-Lo, the York YMCA, and Stacy’s Garden Center.
