Free Picnic Dinners at Final “Music in the Pines” Event

York, SC – August 21, 2008 -- The Lauren Pines Homeowners Association will finish out its summer concert series next Friday evening, August 29, at Lauren Pines’ fifth and final summer “Music in the Pines” concert event at 6:30 p.m. Living Truth, a contemporary Christian band from Clover, will be performing. The HOA will be providing free picnic dinner plates for the first 200 guests.

Living Truth performs throughout the Carolinas, including frequent performances at their home church, First Baptist Church of Clover. Band members include local residents Rusty Fleming, Donna Thomas, and Marie Broome.

Carole Willey with Lending Edge Mortgage commented on the summer concert series: “The Music in the Pines summer series has been a fun experience for my family and me. We’ve been able to attend most of the concerts and really enjoyed the groups that have performed.”

Lauren Pines’ Homeowners Association president Edward Johnson has been pleased with the success of the concerts. “We’ve really been blessed with good weather during each concert, and are pleased to see area residents come out and enjoy the shows,” said Johnson.

Johnson praised local businesses for their support of the series as well. “Our local sponsors have been extremely generous in providing giveaways for those attending the concerts. We want to do whatever we can to promote local businesses, and we’ve been so fortunate in having many of them support us as well. A special thanks to our sponsors York Bi-Lo, Lending Edge Mortgage, Palmetto Bar and Grill, Century 21 Palmetto Homes, and Stacy’s Garden Center for their generous support this summer.”

At Friday night’s event, free frisbees will be given away to the first 50 guests. There will also be several $25 gift certificates provided by local area businesses that will be given away in a drawing.

The “Music in the Pines” free summer concert series is sponsored by the Lauren Pines Homeowners Association and runs through the summer on every other Friday evening. Each concert is open to the public. All shows are family friendly and end by 8:00 p.m.
