Local Boy Scout Troop 366 invites everyone to see the Lauren Pines community near York from one hundred feet in the air. The Scouts are hosting the 2nd Annual Lauren Pines Day on Saturday, Oct. 10 with hot air balloon rides from 7:30-10:30 a.m. and from 4-7 p.m.
Along with the tethered balloon rides by Ray Smith of Airplay Balloons of Tega Cay, there will be hayrides, a moonwalk, food and family fun for all. The scouts will be giving guided tours of the walking trails on the 25 acres of scenery including 100-year-old historic hardwoods, a creek, large boulders, and a bridge atop a carved path as a community service project.
“We want the community to have something fun and support a non-profit group. It works well with the Boy Scouts. Families are encouraged to come and join in the fun” Ed Johnson, of Laureate Developers said. “Since the event was postponed due to weather, we have added the hayride to encourage more of a fall festival atmosphere.”
Tickets for the balloon rides are $10 and include a meal. Children younger than 5 are free. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the day will support the local Troop 366.
Lauren Pines is a 54-estate lot community featuring one and two-story homes surrounded by farm land and woods located on S.C. 161 just north of the U.S. 321 intersection. For further information, contact Johnson at 704-293-6147 or visit www.LaurenPines.com.
